Scott Valentine heads the team of NH Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky with much passion.
Valentine has worked in various places around the world, such as South Africa, London, Tanzania and the Caribbean, before settling in Amsterdam.
During his work and travels he came across a variety of flavors and ingredients. He was intrigued by the way different cultures use natural ingredients to add flavor to a dish.
Valentine combines the classical skills he learned during his education as a Chef, his experience from different kitchens around the world, and with the knowledge he learned abroad, and brings this surprising way of cooking to NH Collection Grand Hotel Krasnapolsky.
Jacob Jan Boerma was captured by good food and cooking at an early age. He learned the trade at renowned restaurants such as De Bokkedoorns, Scholteshof, and Kaatje bij de Sluis.
In the beginning of 2002 Jacob Jan Boerma and Kim Veldman started their own restaurant De Leest on the outskirts of the nature reserve ‘de Veluwe’. In 2003 the restaurant earns its first Michelin star and a second one in 2007. In 2009 Boerma is awarded the prestigious Chef of the Year Award by Gault Millau. Shortly after, the restaurant earns its then third Michelin star and gastronomes both nationally and internationally find everything their culinary heart desires there.
The menu of Grand Café Krasnapolsky is under his signature; a menu with simple dishes full of flavor. Cooking with respect of the ingredients. Inventive recipes and immaculate preparations, presented elegantly.
